Our client is a top-tier US Investment Bank with a well-established global reputation. As part of business expansion in Asia, an outstanding regional leadership opportunity has arisen for a high calibre Product Accountant to join the regional team, based in Hong Kong.
Reporting to the Regional Head of Product Control, you will be the regional team leader, managing the finance function for the Rates and Currencies business. The business covers FX, bonds, repos, interest rate derivatives, exotic interest rate, FX derivatives, structured notes. The team is responsible for daily P&L, Balance Sheet analysis, Price Verification, VAluation adjustment and reserve calculations. In addition you will perform forecast analysis, provide commentary as well as review new products / transactions. Partnering with Traders, Market Risk, Middle Office and Finance teams, you will also work on improvement projects and new system roll-out across the region.
To qualify, individuals must possess:
- A university degree and a professional accounting qualification
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Product Control, Business Finance and/or Management Accounting
- Proven experience in team management
- Knowledge of derivatives products (ideally rates and currencies) and international accounting standards
- Regional exposure and involvement in projects / change initiatives would be highly advantageous
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
